#FollowYourArrowFriday: No. 015 – CoderGirl

I’m starting a class on User Experience design in the CoderGirl program next week at LaunchCode in STL. They’re pretty awesome, look them up! This week we had a kick-off and it got me really excited to start so this week’s #FollowYourArrowFriday was inspired by the LaunchCode logo.

DesignGEEK out!

All of this snowy winter weather has been giving me all the Christmas vibes that I missed out on last month when STL was having 50° weather, which reminded me that I haven’t shared our 2018 Christmas card yet. So here it is, with our address removed because obvi.

#2019ReadingChallenge: Book 1

This year my goal is to read 31 books and I finished my first one last week!

Book 1: The Delphi Effect by Rysa Walker

I loved this book and could not put it down. On one hand I’m sorry I didn’t start it sooner, on the other hand the whole series is out now which means I don’t have to wait to read the next one, in fact I’ve already started it. Definitely recommend this book and Rysa’s other series, The Chronos Files, probably one of my favorites.

In previous years I have celebrated finishing a book by sharing pictures of the book and all the hashtags plus my reaction on my personal Twitter account. This year I’m continuing that, but I would also like to design an image based on a favorite quote from the book for #TypographyTuesday!

#FollowYourArrowFriday: Update

Alright, it’s been awhile. Holiday season…amirite?

Okay, on the plus side, I finished my goal of 12 weeks for #FollowYourArrowFriday posts!

On the negative side, I forgot to post my last two on here and I missed the first one of January. *insert facepalm emoji here*

So I guess first of all here are No. 011 and No. 012:

011 - look up

#FollowYourArrowFriday: No. 011 – Look Up

When I designed this one we were in Ohio with DataGEEK’s family. I could have used my father-in-law’s laptop and designed it digitally, but I had my sketchbook and some pens with me and so I just sketched it out. I liked the imperfectness of it and so I just took a pic and that was it. The quote is from Lifetime’s A Twist of Christmas. Maybe next December I’ll come back to this and make it digital.

#FollowYourArrowFriday: No. 012 – 2019

So what’s next for #FollowYourArrowFriday in 2019?

Well, like I said I missed my first post, we were in Kansas celebrating the holidays with my family and I completely spaced, but I’ve really enjoyed making these weekly designs for the past 12 weeks. I think it’s kept me creative, even if it’s the only creative thing I’ve done that week, it’s a least something. I want to keep doing it, but I want to be more ahead. My 2019 resolution (ha! I’m behind on everything can you tell?) is to be at least 2 weeks out with my designs so that I’ll already have two created in case something comes up or I’m so focused on something, like Christmas or traveling, that I forget/it’s pushed to the back burner and then not done. I will also post twice tomorrow since I missed the first one of the year, gotta make it up!

So check back tomorrow (and every Friday) for more arrows!
